Bugatti releases New Limited Edition Veyron in Honour of Grandfather Car

2014 Bugatti Vitesse 'Black Bess', the fastest open-topped car in the world.

The grandfather of all Veyrons, the Black Bess
Bugatti has unveiled an absolutely stunning edition at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show of the world famous super-car Veyron, in honour of its original ancestor the 'Black Bess'. The super car comes with 24-carat gold lined interior designs, including drawings etched into the wood inserts of the 1912 masterpiece Bugatti. This 'Black Bess' unsurprisingly comes with immense power and cost, boasting an 8.0 litre engine that musters 1,200 horsepower and can take the motor to speeds of 253 mph, all-in-all costing a hefty $2.98 million (2.15 million euros). The 2014 Black Bess Veyron has taken the status of being the world's fastest open-topped car. In contrast, the original 1912 type 18 Black Bess had a 5 litre V4 engine in which it could produce 100 horsepower, overpowered by the 2014 Veyron's V16 engine by a factor of 4. Bugatti states that only three will ever be created.
